Yes, you can have “contracts listen to events”. But now we’re just talking about the technology, not the value prop. A value prop is a differentiated end-to-end use case that web2 can’t also provide.

Look, I agree it’s cool that it’s a big “world computer” on a shared ledger. Maybe it has applications. Maybe NFTs are digital art/collectibles. I just don’t think it’s anything close to a revolutionary technology like the original internet. As just one example of a value prop, the original internet let you type a keyword and get instant breaking news about it. Describing a value prop is as simple as that.
